DESCRIPTION:AIA Austin WiA Present: Site Tour // Mobile Loaves & Fishes PHASE 3// Studio 8\nCEU Credits 2 LU/HSW \nPPE Required\n\nLong pants and substantial closed soled toed shoes ( hiking shoes\, boots – no tennis shoes\, no heels\, no ballet flats\, no loafers\, no shorts) – anyone not complying with this requirement will not be able to walk the site. NO EXCEPTIONS. \nSafety Vest & Hard Hat\n\n  \nMobile Loaves & Fishes Community First! Village provides affordable\, permanent housing and a supportive community for individuals transitioning out of chronic homelessness. This transformative initiative not only serves those in need but also invites the broader community to actively participate in the solution. \nGuided by Mobile Loaves & Fishes’ core values of beauty\, flexibility\, stewardship\, and inclusivity\, the design of the Phase 3 Downtown Hub reflects these principles while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adaptability for future growth. The hub’s design aims to create a vibrant\, welcoming space that fosters community and connection. \nThe Phase 3 Downtown Hub consists of five buildings\, totaling 43\,800 sq. ft.\, including the Corporate Headquarters\, Neighbor Services\, Market/Kitchen\, Welcome Center\, and Assembly Hall. These structures are arranged around an active community courtyard\, with shaded porches promoting social interaction. Drawing inspiration from agrarian architecture\, the buildings maintain a residential scale that fosters a sense of belonging. This tour will be led by the design team at Studio 8\, members of leadership at Mobile Loaves & Fishes and project managers with Square One Consultants. \nWiA Site Tour Sub-Committee Chair\n\nMichelle Weinfield\, PE\, AIA\nMichelle is an Architect and Project Manager at the Planning Design and Construction for the University of Texas in Austin and thrilled to be the  WiA’s Site Tour sub-committee Chair. A native Texan and long term Austin resident\, she is active in AIA Austin and other local organizations whose mission is to improve the built or natural environment. She is on the hunt for fantastic new projects designed or built by women to schedule a tour. Please reach out with any leads. \nPresenters\n\n\n\n\n\nAmy Westermeyer\, AIA\, LEED BD+C //Project Manager // Studio8 \n\nAmy Westermeyer is a Project Architect and Project Manager at Studio8 Architecture & Interiors. She holds a Master of Architecture from Rice University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Kentucky. Her project experience includes corporate campuses\, hospitality\, mixed-use retail\, park amenities\, master planning\, and community-oriented projects. Amy is passionate about delivering projects that fulfill both the client and design team’s vision\, creating joyful experiences for all who use the spaces.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRachel Parker\, IIDA\, LEED Green Associate //Interior Designer // Studio8 \n\nRachel Parker is an Interior Designer at Studio8 Architecture & Interiors. She holds a Bachelor of Design in Interior Design from the University of Florida. She has worked on several corporate interior projects and non-profit community centers. Rachel is an avid problem-solver who finds joy in spatial planning\, her favorite part of the design process. She excels at developing thoughtful solutions to ensure clients’ programs fit seamlessly within spaces.\n\n\n\n\nLauren Palms // Project Manager // Square One Consultants\, INC \n\nLauren is a highly qualified project manager and a valuable member to the Square One team. She has experience with scheduling cost control\, and coordination and is currently working on major projects in Austin. Lauren assists the project team in coordinating engineering\, procurement\, and construction activities to achieve the project execution metrics concerning schedule\, cost and scope.\n\n\nKatherin Sasser // Director of Business Development // Square One Consultants\, INC\nKatherine is an Austin native and a proud graduate from Texas A&M University. Driven by her passion for people\, Katherine is a dynamic\, outgoing professional with a track record for establishing meaningful relationships. She started at Square One as a Project Manager and now serves as their Director of Business Development. Whether it is running the trail\, enjoying live music\, hitting the greenbelt\, or trying a new restaurant\, you can always find Katherine exploring something new around town. If not in Austin\, she can be found in the Texas Hill Country on the ranch surrounded by family\, friends\, and lots of cows.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSarah Saterlee // Director of Architecture & Site Development // Mobile Loaves\n\n\nSarah Satterlee currently serves as Senior Director of Architecture and Site Development for Mobile Loaves & Fishes at Community First! Village\, a 51-acre (and growing) permanent supportive housing community for formerly chronically homeless in Austin\, TX. In this role\, she directs the teams responsible for the creation and care of the built and natural environment at the Village\, including all facilities operations and capital projects. Currently in development are Phase 3 and Phase 4 of Community First\, which will add an additional 1200 homes and other services and amenities to our existing community over the next five years. \nSarah cares passionately about crafting a built environment that cultivates strong community living\, especially for people with unique needs and less access to design services. Sarah previously practiced architecture in her hometown of New Orleans with Colectivo\, contributing to residential and commercial projects throughout the city\, as well as several community and social outreach focused design/build projects with the Small Center for Collaborative Design. Sarah is a licensed architect and holds a BS from Baylor University and an M.Arch from Tulane University. \n\n\n\nArlene Ellwood // Design Manager // Mobile Loaves & Fishes\nArlene Ellwood is the Design Manager at Mobile Loaves & Fishes\, which operates Community First! Village. She holds an M. Architecture degree and a B.S. Architectural Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin\, and has work experience in arts-based planning and community engagement. She is deeply committed to inclusive\, community-engaged\, and trauma-informed design\, and believes that good architecture can promote dignity and change stereotypes.\n\n\nCatherine Davis // Architectural Program Coordinator // Mobile Loaves & Fishes\nCatherine Davis is the Architectural Program Coordinator at Community First! Village\, a program of Mobile Loaves & Fishes. She majored in Sustainability Studies and Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin\, with minors in Architectural Studies\, Landscape Studies\, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. She is passionate about sustainable development and utilizing an intersectional lens when designing the built environment.\n  \n
