She also helps shape Cedar’s brand narrative\, translating its design philosophy and values into compelling stories for clients\, partners\, and communities. \n \nJes Deaver\, AIA \nMcKinney York Architects | Architect \nJes Deaver is an accomplished architect\, writer\, and speaker. Her interdisciplinary writing has been published in Connections Magazine\, Texas Architect magazine and The Architect’s Newspaper. Through her science fiction and independent research\, she connects design\, meaning and place to positive futures. Profiles about her and her work are published in the book Out There: New Architecture Across America\, Residential Design magazine\, Western Art and Architecture\, and she is a frequent podcast guest. Jes’s work has won design awards from AIA Austin\, AIA National\, Preservation Austin\, and ARCHITECT magazine. \n \nMolly Hubbs\, AIA \nMcKinney York Architects | Architect \nMolly Hubbs is an Associate at McKinney York Architects and a thoughtful design leader whose work is rooted in craft\, collaboration\, and community engagement. With experience spanning K–12\, Higher Education\, and Institutional projects\, she brings clarity and rigor to complex renovations\, guiding projects from early design through construction with a focus on cohesive\, enduring environments. Molly is also an active advocate for the architecture community\, with longstanding involvement and leadership through AIA Austin. \n \nLauren Boyd \nMichael Hsu Office of Architecture | Project Architect \nLauren Boyd is a Project Architect at Michael Hsu Office of Architecture\, where she has spent the past five years designing and delivering high-end hospitality projects across a range of scales. Her work spans restaurants\, boutique destinations\, and 300-key hotels\, providing a strong foundation for creating elevated design that feels both thoughtful and approachable. Recently recognized as one of Austin Home Magazine’s 2025 Rising Stars in Austin Design\, Lauren is passionate about designing for the human experience and exploring how thoughtful placemaking can foster meaningful connections and strengthen the communities around us.\nOutside of architecture\, Lauren enjoys traveling the world\, exploring the evolving urban fabric of Austin by bike\, and discovering the latest box-office releases as an emerging film enthusiast. \n \nNkiru Gelles \nSOM | Project Designer \nNkiru Gelles\, AIA\, NOMA\, is an architect and design leader whose work is shaped by global experience\, cultural curiosity\, and a deep commitment to community. As Studio Head at SOM’s Austin office\, she draws on nearly 20 years of practice across diverse international experience that has sharpened her ability to navigate complex cultural contexts and create environments that are both visually compelling and socially grounded. \nNkiru holds a Master of Architecture from Rice University. Her portfolio includes health and wellness\, mixed us\, cultural\, higher education and residential projects. She is the 2026 AIA Austin President and serves as a Design Commissioner for District 3\, where she champions policies and urban strategies that advocate for a vibrant\, inclusive\, and walkable public realm. Across all her work\, she brings a strong belief in architecture’s capacity to empower communities\, elevate everyday experiences\, and create meaningful cultural connections.
