SUMMARY:LGBTQIA+ Alliance QTOPIA 3.0: Zine creation and Loud & Proud Auction
DESCRIPTION:When: April 24\, 6-9 PM\nWhere: The Beck Group office – 1401 E 6th St\, Building 1\, suite 500\, Austin TX 78702.  A follow up email will be sent to registrants with directions and parking information. \nDescription: The 3rd installment of our QTOPIA series will benefit our Hill Country Ride for AIDs (HCRA) cycling team through a loud and silent auction and provide community resources through a collaborative zine making activity. \nHow to I participate? This is a free event but registration is required. A suggested donation of $5 at the door benefits our HCRA team. \nWhat is the zine activity? We will be creating pages for a community zine! We’ll have supplies and community resources\, but bring your own thoughts and ideas to contribute. What would you want to see in a community zine? \nDid you say loud AND silent auction? Yes\, items will be separated into two bidding categories. Our very own Tim Peterson will be our loud auctioneer for the evening! We have collected an array of items from local businesses\, including furniture\, lighting\, electronics\, and other goodies! \nWhere do auction funds go? Funds raised during the loud and silent auctions will directly support our Hill Country Ride for AIDS cycling team. \nWhat is the Hill Country Ride for AIDS? The Hill Country Ride for AIDS (HCRA) is a family friendly and festive bike ride through the beautiful hill country that raises funds given directly to nine local nonprofits who help those affected by HIV/AIDS. \nCan’t make it but want to support our team? You can donate to our team at the link here. There is a “Donate” button on the top right of the page. Donations will support nine local nonprofits – allgo\, ASHwell\, CARE Program\, Community Action\, Friends of David Powel Clinic\, OutYouth\, Project Transitions\, Vivent Health\, and Texas Health Action (The Kinds Clinic)More details coming soon. \nThank you to The Beck Group for hosting and sponsoring this event!
