The Urban Design Committee’s 2026 Speaker Series will focus on smaller scale development and projects that transform underutilized spaces at the neighborhood scale, demonstrate creativity in adaptive reuse and inform a sense of place.
Next up in our series will be Ben Dimmitt of Chioco Design who will share more about their vision and process for the redevelopment of the former warehouse at 979 Springdale into a community anchor and neighborhood hub that serves as the home of the Austin Bouldering Project, Groundfloor Theater and others. We’ll discuss ways that this project prioritizes the public realm and exemplifies the principles of urbanism through placemaking and thoughtful design.
No CE, but lunch will be provided.
4th Wednesday of each month at 12:00 PM. All are welcome to the Urban Design Committee meetings. Information provided in to our mailing list. Sign up for our mailing list here!
