The Urban Design Committee’s 2026 Speaker Series will focus on smaller scale development and projects that transform underutilized spaces at the neighborhood scale, demonstrate creativity in adaptive reuse and inform a sense of place.
First up in our series will be Lucy Begg and Robert Gay of Thoughtbarn to share more about their vision and process for the redevelopment of the former 1960’s Hyde Park Post Office into a lively neighborhood hub that serves as the home of FirstLight Books, Tiny Grocer, All Day Pizza and Moogie Pilates. We’ll discuss ways that this project prioritizes the public realm and exemplifies the principles of urbanism through placemaking and thoughtful design.
Lunch will be provided. Register here.
