The Austin Public Library is turning 100 — and we want the community’s help to imagine how we celebrate it.
Join Austin Public Library and Design Austin for a hands-on Community Workshop to brainstorm ideas for a centennial art installation that will honor the first hundred years of memories of Austin Public Library and inspire visitors for the next century and beyond.
Thursday, March 5, 5:30–7:30 PM
Austin Public Library, 710 W Cesar Chavez St, Den Room, 6th Floor
At this interactive workshop, you will collaborate in facilitated groups to imagine an art piece that is:
• Eye-catching and memorable
• Rooted in Austin’s creativity and culture
• Inspired by 100 years of discovery, and the next 100 to come
• Reflective of the people who make this city what it is
Concepts generated will be reviewed by Austin Public Library stakeholders to inform the final installation.
Designers. Storytellers. Students. Families. Curious minds. All are welcome!
Recommended for ages 10 and up. Children should be able to participate in a collaborative discussion setting.
