In the AEC world, sustainability is a bit like a game of Whack-A-Mole. What was once about solar panels and low-flow toilets is now a complex puzzle of embodied carbon, social equity, and circular economies.
Sustainability came into this world as something deeply important and meaningful, went through some awkward “adolescent” years as an overused buzzword, but has now matured into a magnificent mosaic of interdependent ideas on how our buildings affect the health of our families, communities and planetary ecosystems, the fairness and justness of our economy, and the future quality of life in the world.
Join our panel of thoughtful folks as they help us get a bead on this constantly shifting target, exploring what “sustainable” does, should, or could mean today.
