BEC Austin + Emerging Professionals Detailing Workshop

Join us for a Detailing Workshop in collaboration with Emerging Professionals. Past Chair Keith Simon will give a brief presentation on Detailing 101 before we break into groups led by architects and engineers. Bring your own detail or choose from some standard “blocked-out” details. We will have both residential and commercial expertise! Refreshments provided. Registration is required.
In this Detailing Workshop, you will learn about control layers and detailing principles. You will be taught the basics of good detailing resulting in durable, efficient, and beautiful buildings. We will explore a variety of different enclosure systems for a variety of different project types.
- Understand the different control layers and their properties
- Describe detail elements that manage the building enclosure
- Analyze construction sequencing for proper detailing
- Assess various materials and systems to balance performance and aesthetics
