Join BEC: Austin for their monthly meeting featuring a presentation and lunch.
Lunch sponsored by Sika Commercial Roofing & Waterproofing

From Fluid to Fortress: Transforming Surfaces with fluid applied waterproofing
Presented by Brian Roeder with Page and John Posenecker with Terracon.

Learning the art of fluid-applied rubberized asphalt waterproofing packs a punch of science and skill! Imagine donning your safety gear like a superhero outfit, wielding a steaming, rubber-infused liquid that transforms ordinary roofs and decks into impervious shields. Mastering this craft with reinforced membranes and strategic seams turns the coating into a resilient, flexible fortress that dances with thermal expansion and shrugs off leaks, corrosion, and chemicals. Each corner and joint becomes a deliberate move in an elegant choreography of design and science. Participants will learn not only the basics but critical issues and functional information to ensure quality that will outlast them.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will acquire an understanding of the basic tested principles behind fluid applied waterproofing.
  2. Participants will be able to evaluate and assess the critical issues behind a seamless, durable application.
  3. Participants will recognize the tools and be able to properly specify application needs.
  4. Participants will be able to build and utilize this learning to help quality assurance in their own practice and projects.
