AIA Austin Advocacy Roundtable: Housing and Affordability Monday, April 28th, 2025 – 12-1:30PM
Join AIA Austin’s Housing Advocacy leaders for a roundtable discussion on the Site Plan Lite Phase 2 & Infill Plats ordinance, which was passed by City Council on March 6th, 2025. The event will include an overview of the approved ordinance, as well as perspectives on the political and regulatory context, policy-making process, and opportunities and constraints of the ordinance as adopted.  1 CEU Pending.

Panel participants will include:

  • Matt Hollon – City of Austin environmental planner
  • Cody Carr – Infill developer and principal of Carr Residential
  • Awais Azhar – Executive Director of HousingWorks Austin and vice chair of Planning Commission
  • Chris Gannon – Chair of AIA Austin Housing Advocacy Committee

The Site Plan Lite Phase 2 & Infill Plats ordinance is a response to direction from City Council to facilitate the building of missing-middle housing in Austin by establishing more streamlined review processes for (a) projects of 5 to 16 units located on a single lot and (b) the creation of infill lots within existing residential subdivisions.
