TechASIS Technical Advances in Structural Insulated Sheathing (SIS) (1 LU-HSW)
This course reviews various hybridized sheathing solutions and shows how the integration of advanced technology has improved performance, capability and sustainability of SIS
- Identify the characteristics of various hybridized sheathing solutions that contribute to energy efficiency and reduce air loss.
- Use SIS systems to assist project teams in meeting green building programs, goals and requirements.
- Relay the benefits of fusion technology versus lamination/gluing.
- Identify how fusion-based Magnesium Oxide SIS contributes to sustainability, constructability and versatility.

Craig Holmes has over 25 years’ experience in the design and construction industry throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southern part of the United States. As a DuPont Architectural Building Envelope Specialist and trusted advisor, he works with building envelope designs and construction professionals assisting with building envelope designs, product selections, thermal analysis and wall assembly details that meet and exceed latest code changes.
BEC: Austin is an interdisciplinary organization that promotes the exchange of information on building enclosures and related science specific to the climate of Central Texas.
Interdisciplinary: architects, engineers, contractors, building owners, consultants, facility managers, code officials, educators, manufacturers, and those with a stake in building enclosure performance
Exchange of information: discussion, training, education, outreach, and awareness
Building enclosures and related science: energy-efficiency, moisture control, indoor air quality, longevity, and durability
